Dr. Tortora received his BS in biology from Wagner College and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. He then entered general practice residency at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, New York. During his residency, he treated many handicapped children and the indigent and incarcerated populations. Afterward, he entered private practice with an emphasis on quality preventive care. Dr. Tortora is a member of two fantastic holistic organizations: the Holistic Dental Organization (HDO) and the American Association for Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH). Both of these organizations are built from members who are highly respected for their research study and valued experience. Dr. Tortora also values the support and fellowship these organizations provide for him as a holistic dentist. He has treated and advised holistically oriented patients with knowledge of nutrition, homeopathy and acupuncture, as well as the use of healthy dental materials (mercury-free) and amalgam removal protocol. As such, he has helped many patients reach their personal health goals. After 40 years of mercury-free dentistry, Dr. Tortora’s dental calling has taken on a whole new meaning. He knows that the best is yet to come for the health and well-being of our patients and society in general through the manifestation of holistic practitioners’ goals. Dr. Tortora lives in Fair Haven, New Jersey. He has two grown sons, Brandon and Jeremy, and three grandchildren, Declan, Hudson and Greyson. His hobbies include photography and singing in the church choir.
