Inadequate staff - Incompetent provider!

I came to Dr. Tortora's off of great reviews on Groupon. I was nervous because I lost my dental insurance almost 2 years ago and was a little self conscious. Everyone in the office was so nice and it helped ease my nerves. Christine did a great job cleaning my teeth. The dentist was very patient with all of my questions and gave me recommendations on how to improve my gum health from avoiding the dentist for so long. A great overall experience and I will definitely be back. Thank you.

Terribly upset by my visit with this dentist. Bought a teeth cleaning special on their Groupon get my teeth cleaned the doctor comes in and proceeds to tell me I have 6 cavities that need fillings. I am almost 30 and have had one cavity in my life. I didn't trust his judgement and went to my dentist out of pocket and turns out I have no cavities. Don't go here, not worth it.

I am extremely disappointed in this practice and will NEVER go back here again. I believe in a holistic approach to health which is why I sought out this Dentist office. When Dr. Tortora came in to do the overall examination I was expressing how happy I was that I found a dentist that believes in the same approach that I do. I also expressed that my nerves were at ease because I felt I could trust him from the loads of information listed on his website. Issues: #1 - After I stated everything above I found it strange that he really had nothing else to say back to me. He actually seemed very rushed and didn't want to bother talking if he didn't need to. (made me feel uneasy because in my past experience with Holistic professionals they personally get to know you or at least take their time to make you feel they care). #2 - While I was in the chair he NEVER mentioned that he saw cavities. The only thing he stated was that my teeth had some dark grooves that can stain the tooth (which I already knew). Before I got off the chair he gave me his promotional speech that he recommends I change my tooth paste to the brand they sell at the office along with the mouth wash. #3- As I check out at the front she rings me up and tells me that I have 5 surface cavities. FIVE CAVITIES!!!!!!!!! I was blown away because a minute ago he was face to face and never once said I had a Cavity let alone FIVE. They also put the mouth waste and tooth paste on my bill without me even asking for it. LONG STORY SHORT ** I didn't believe them. I do not regularly get cavities and for this guy to tell me I have 5 -- he was out of his mind. I made an appointment with my family dentist (drove 2 hours way just to get a trustworthy second opinion) and my dentist told me that he sees NO cavities. This place is disgusting and I am applauded that they were going to rob me of $1300 to get my teeth fixed when there was nothing wrong. SHAME ON YOU!!!!

The experience at Dr. Tortora was very good. The Dr. and the Staff are friendly and informative. I would recommend their office to my friends and family.
